Our old Epson Powerlite projector is on its way out. It never produced high-quality images: the colors were off and the contrast was iffy. And, sometime in the past week or so, it developed a smeary, blurry smudge right in the center of the screen! Those of you who attended our competition meeting on February 7th can attest to the problem. Our judge certainly noticed it.
Help is on the way. After an emergency SCACC conference call last night, it was decided to purchase a new and improved projector: the brand new BenQ HC1200. The new projector will arrive on Friday. Barring any unforeseen problems.Poly will see it in action for the first time at our banquet on February 28th.
The HC1200 was only recently released by BenQ and it has some impressive sounding specs. Some of the most important include:
- Color accuracy. It’s purported to display the entire sRGB color space accurately.
- Better contrast: 11,000 to 1.
- High Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (as compared to our old projector’s 1024 x 768.
- HDMI input. We’ll be installing a new HDMI cable at the Photo Arts Building soon.
