Join us for a Milky Way workshop with Lacey Horner in Anza Borrego. This is an in-person workshop at the Galleta Meadows Sculptures. We will meet at Christmas Circle in Borrego Springs at 6:30pm.

Sunset is at 7:22pm and the milky way core is visible starting at 8:50pm. We will get cameras set up before it gets dark. Then, while we wait for the milky way to appear, Lacey will discuss ideal camera settings to use, how to focus on the stars, planning apps, as well as other tips and techniques. Everybody will be given a PDF handout to take home.
Please bring a tripod, camera, wide angle low light lens (14mm-35mm f/1.8, f/2.8), a remote shutter release, a headlamp or flashlight, and a chair.
We will have a planning meeting via zoom on Tuesday, August 5th at 6:30pm. A reminder email with the zoom link will be sent out closer to the date. During the meeting, we will decide which metal sculpture to photograph, discuss carpool options, and answer any questions.

We are having a planning meeting for 2026 to decide on project themes, workshops, outings, and overnight trips for next year. Everyone is welcome to join the meeting and share ideas. The meeting will be held in person at the PAB in Balboa Park on Saturday September 13th, 2025 at 9:30am.
